Introduction

Our group has decided to answer the question of what the role of women is in the media, and how that role has changed over years. We believe this is an important question to answer because as the internet becomes more and more influential everyday and humans become more interconnected, it is important to see how gender equality will factor into this era. Are we moving toward a more equal media? A more discriminatory one? 

In order to answer this question we will look into the history of what positions women have held in media-related businesses, what positions are held by women today, and then estimate, based on our findings, what this trend will mean for the future. We will look at a selection of studies and examples from television to see how women have affected media, both in front of and behind the camera.
